Is it possible to create a QR code that takes the user directly to register a new case in a specific form?
The URL displayed in your browser’s address bar when navigating the system always points to your site’s main address (for example, https://company.amsystem.com). If you use this URL as a link—such as in a QR code—users will always be directed to the homepage, since the address never reflects your precise location within the system.
To address this, the platform offers permalink functionality, allowing you to create direct links to specific cases and documents. These permalinks are generated through dedicated features in the system and cannot be copied directly from the browser’s address bar. For more information on permalinks, see the articles Link to an existing Case and Link to a published Document.
When registering cases, there are two methods:
- Public Registration: Here, a direct link is provided, which you can use to generate a QR code.
- Registration within the System: n this scenario, no direct link is available for creating a QR code to a specific form. However, you can generate links using the Register specific case feature, but these are only accessible within documents.
As an alternative, you can create a layout document containing one or more clear buttons that link to different forms via the “Register Specific Case” function.
Once that document is published, you can use its permalink to generate a QR code with any preferred tool. This QR code can then be placed or distributed as needed. When a user scans the QR code, they’ll first land on the document, which acts as a portal, allowing them to easily proceed to the correct form for case registration.
