What does overriding access mean in the document module in AM System?

Users with overriding access restrictions always have access to documents, regardless of the access settings configured in the category tree. This means that even if the access filter has been applied or standard access settings have been set, users with overriding access will always have access to the documents.

There are two types of overriding access restrictions

1. Overriding access to all documents

2. Overriding access to selected categories

  • Users with the profile setting Assigned categories and who have been designated as category manager for at least one category.

Please note that users who are document creators, have approved a document, or are assigned as reviewers for a document will always have access to those documents, regardless of any overarching access filters or standard access settings applied. Therefore, even if these users do not possess any of the aforementioned profile settings, they can still access documents irrespective of the configured access settings.
