Why can’t I create a new section at the top of a form?

The first section of a form works differently from the other sections. Among other things, it is the first—and only the first—section that is displayed when a new Case is created. It is also the section displayed when using thepublic registration feature. For this reason, you cannot create a new section and place it directly above the existing first section.

If you are sure you want to add a new first section, you can do the following instead:

  1. Create the new section, place it as the second section in the form, and give it a name.

  2. Save the form.

  3. Open the form again and move the first section so that it appears below the new section.

The new section will then become the first section of the form.

Note: Consider the change carefully before rearranging the sections. Changes made to the form also affect existing Cases created using that form.
