As an administrator, can I change the owner or person responsible for a document?
Within AM System, multiple roles are associated with documents—a creator, an approver, and often a designated person responsible for revisions. However, there is no predefined role called "document owner"; instead, each organization defines internally who should be regarded as the owner of a document.
It is not possible to change the creator or approver of a document, as these roles are directly linked to the users who originally created or approved the document.
However, it is possible to change the person responsible for revisions, depending on the settings your organization uses:
-
Specific:
You can easily change the person responsible for revisions—especially if the responsibility is assigned to a group. In this case, simply update the group members, without needing to create a new document version. -
Dynamic:
With dynamic revision, responsibility is linked to the person who created or approved the document. To assign a new responsible person with this setting, the document must be revised—meaning a new version is created and published. The new responsible person is assigned only when the revised version is created or approved. If you prefer, you can switch to Specific revision at any time, which allows for immediate responsibility reassignment.
