We occasionally receive support inquiries regarding login issues that arise when a VPN is enabled.
Are you using a commercial VPN or anonymization service?
Many people are now working from home, leading to an increase in the use of commercial VPN services or anonymization tools to hide their identity and IP address. While these services are often employed to enhance privacy or bypass censorship, they can also be misused for unethical purposes such as hacking. As a result, this type of traffic may occasionally be blocked. It’s important to recognize that these restrictions may not be related to your specific usage. A commercial VPN may have previously been associated with illegal activities, prompting the system to block the IP address. Furthermore, many IP addresses are shared among users of these services, making it challenging to determine which ones should be allowed.
We recommend avoiding commercial VPN or anonymization services, as they may be blocked, preventing us from allowing traffic from them.
Are you utilizing login protection on your site?
Are you able to access your AM site when the VPN is disabled but not when it is enabled? This could indicate that login protection has been activated on your site. This feature is designed to allow specific traffic to access the system, and if your computer's IP address is on the approved list, you will automatically be granted access to log in.
However, if you are using a dynamic IP address, the numerical identifier changes regularly, making it difficult to manage within an approved list.
